Welcome to the work of digital artist Charles H. Carver. Please proceed to the gallery/index section if interested in illustration, fine art, or commercial examples of the artist's work. More generally, this site is philosophically based, with artwork dispersed throughout.

Both the imagery and the writing speak to that natural power intrinsic to the processes that subsequently concretize our world into the self-evident and forgotten reality presented by the senses. For us, the perceived world is appropriately taken as 'given' quite clearly and exhaustively, because it has already been actively solidified into the stable structure lived through the fruition of our sense processes into the maturation of our experiences. Instead of experiencing the creative and active transformations achieved as our brain-and-body couples to the raw beckoning of a distal world, we discover ourselves, in normal consciousness, attending to our own conceptual constructs and our own belated apprehension of what was in the words of Maurice Merleau-Ponty: "the laying down of being" re-enacted at every given moment, in the momentum of every act and expression.
